HURRICANE Irma after Hurricane Harvey are signs of the end of the world, according to a Christian preacher who says that there will be a ”birth of the new world”.
Hurricane Irma could strike New York on 9/11 as the city mourns 16 years on from the heinous attack on the World Trade Centre, a shocking projection of the storm’s path has claimed.
The US is still reeling from the effects of Hurricane Harvey, which has killed at least 45 people and caused flooding and destruction across Texas.
Now with the Atlantic hurricane season continuing, one projection has claimed there is a risk Hurricane Irma could make landfall in the US on September 10, causing devastation to the city as the storm continues to rage into the following day.
Some current projections show the storm landing as a category 3 hurricane, capable of ripping roofs from houses and causing huge waves and storm surges.
But as Hurricane Irma gains in strength there is no guarantee the storm will strike the continental US at all.
The US National Hurricane Centre (NHC) has said it is “still far too early to discuss impacts on mainland US”.
In a statement the NHC went on to urge residents in potentially affected areas to check with local officials on plans to remain safe.
The projected 116mph winds would make it stronger than Hurricane Sandy, the deadliest and most destructive storm of 2012 and the second costliest in US history.
Max Lucado of Oak Hills Church in San Antonio, Texas, took the time to warn that the likes of Hurricane Harvey are signs of the apocalypse and rapture.
Hundreds of thousands of people have been left homeless due to the devastating flood which has also claimed the lives of at least 39 people so far.
This, according to Mr. Lucado, is a sign that the world as we know it is about to end and world leaders are apparently ignoring the signs.
The preacher points to a passage in Matthew 16:3, where Jesus says: “You find it easy enough to forecast the weather—why can’t you read the signs of the times?”
Mr. Lucado says that the catastrophes around the world are a sign of the world experiencing “birth pangs” – pain during labour as “she” (the planet) prepares to birth the new world.
“Birth pangs must occur before a new birth.”
“Our world is experiencing a rash of birth pangs these days. It is not to me to declare the day the Lord will return.”
“But we know this much: it’s the beginning of the end and the beginning of new beginnings.”
“Calamities and catastrophes must occur before the birth of the new world.”
“Jesus promised that bad thing would occur. But they won’t occur forever.”
“What rescuers are doing for Houstonians, God will do for you. He has entered your world. He has dropped a rope into your sin-swamped life.”
“He will rescue, you simply need to do what many stranded people are doing–let him lift you out.”
“Listen to the lessons of Harvey. Let the storm remind you of the value of relationships, people and, most of all, the promise of heaven.”
According to the US Federal Emergency Management Agency, around 364,000 people have sought federal emergency aid because of Hurricane Harvey since it made land on August 25.
